A WAY INTO God’s Blessings

When God wanted to bless Abraham, he called him out of his own kindred to a different country. When God wanted to bless Israel, he did call them out of Egypt. Jesus said, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God( luke 9. 62)." This means, the call of God which requires prompt obedience is a call that does not require looking back. Paul the Apostle understood this and pressed on to the end:

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus( Philippians 3:14).”

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7)”

Paul the Apostle was not like Lot’s wife whose curiosity made her to look back and became a pillar of salt( But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. Genesis 19:26 ).

This simply means, to enjoy God’s blessings we need to obey God and be focused in the race that He has called us into. In fact, we need to have the faith of Job who circumstances did not allow him to turn back. We also need to be like Ruth who said I will go with you and honoured her words( Ruth 1).
