John 4: 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”
Knowing the churchMany Christians claim that their churches are the true church. The truth is, all these claims are not true. The question to answer is, what is a church?
Well without any dictionary, a church is a where God is worshipped in truth and in faith. Well look at what The Lord Jesus told Peter the Apostle:
Matthew 1613 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[b] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[c] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[d] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
From the above scripture, the question to ask is this: did The Lord build any temple whilst he was alive? Also, may I know if Apostles Peter, John, Paul use their time to build a place called church? What I know is, they built people. They preached conversion and those that repented were helped to grow in faith and love towards God and mankind.
Another question is, will the Lord take a building to heaven? I do not think that any building will go to heaven; however, I know that those who are now for Christ will go to heaven.
Dear, the truth is, you and me are the church of Christ. God is not interested in buildings made with hands. He is interested in what he has created and do want his creation to worship him in truth, faith and love.
This was what The LORD TOLD THE SAMARITAN WOMAN. Brethren, let us love ourselves as followers of Jesus Christ, be in love and fellowship and stop the unreasonable arguements--claiming that our created organisations are the true organisations. The organisation of God is you and me, so lets keep ourselves pure for Christ.
