KEEP SOLVING THE PROBLEMS THAT COMES YOUR WAY
There is a proverb in the Ghanaian “Akan” language that says, “If the sore was not shy to be on your nose, you also should not be shy or afraid to treat it.”
Your rewards and awards in life will depend on how many questions you have solved. For example, you are holding the certificates in your hands because you once solved some questions. People who do receive Nobel prizes do obtain it, because of some questions they have solved in life. The road to greatness has to do with solving questions for others and yourself. A person like mother Theresa got her Nobel because she solved many questions for the less privileged in life. If she did this and got a special award for her efforts and work, we can do similar. There are lots of questions around us that we need to solve.
I know there are some questions that are still not solved in your environment, which you desire to solve. My message is, do not be shy or afraid; instead, arise and solve them. Do it, because you know that it is something that is needed to be done. Do not do it because you are in need of praise—something more than praise will follow it. Besides, you can help many to solve their questions that they cannot solve using the strength you have.
What the above proverb means is if a problem is not shy or afraid to present itself, you also should not be shy or afraid to solve it. Look, there is one thing I know about problems—they are stubborn. This means, if a problem presents itself and we as people refuse to arise and solve, it will become a threat with time. So, whatever problem or problems that come our way in life, we need to stretch ourselves and determine to solve them without delay. Look, what we ought to understand is, in life without stretching ourselves, there are many things we cannot be able to do. In fact, if we want the best out of life and our lives, you need to stretch ourselves.
The best way to get a juice out of a fruit is to squeeze. By squeezing, what one is doing is stretching the fruit to bring out the best in it—vitamins. Similarly, stretching ourselves is squeezing the best out of us to help create a better future. Look at the pains women go through to bring forth a baby—that is stretching; look at the pains parents endure for a child to grow—that is stretching. The truth is, to get anything, we need to stretch ourselves else we cannot obtain that thing. This means, to solve the problems that come our way, we must always be prepared to stretch ourselves. To do this does mean that we will need determination.
To determine simply means making our minds. To make our minds has power. It has the power to boost our morale to enable us move on even when the road is with hurdles. In fact, it is a driver to victory. This is one of the secrets of the mosquito. It is determination that is making it not to be afraid of people. In fact, its determination is very strong, and that is the reason why when you try killing it, it will come back. Besides the mosquitoes, I know about a plant in Ghana known as “tami awu,” meaning, if you want to kill me, you will first die. The truth about this plant is to erase it out of your farm requires great work.
Dear, I have said all the above to let you know that you can solve problems that come your way using the power of your mind. So, when problems knock, use the dynamite you have to bring them to nothing. If you develop this habit of problem solving wherever you are I guarantee you great victory and awards in life.
